It's best to start shopping for mother of the bride or mother of the groom outfits about six to nine months before the wedding.
This timeframe allows for ample time to find the right style, consider any alterations, and match the wedding's colour scheme and theme.
Additionally, if the outfit needs to be ordered or customized, starting early ensures you won’t feel rushed as the big day approaches - alterations are carried out in store

Normally only the Mother of the bride is allowed to wear cream or ivory to the wedding but we do have some beautiful outfits in soft shades that will compliment the bride and avoid any falling outs!
A perfect Mother of the Bride/Groom outfit balances elegance, style, and comfort.
Here are some elements to consider:
- Dress or Suit: A knee-length or full-length dress is a classic choice. A fitted A-line dress or a stylish mother-of-the-bride suit can also work well. Consider fabric choices like chiffon, lace, or silk for a sophisticated look.
- Color: Soft pastels, rich jewel tones, or classic neutrals are popular. Coordinate with the wedding theme but avoid wearing ivory or the same color as the bridesmaids.
- Accessories: Choose tasteful accessories like a statement necklace, elegant earrings, or a lovely clutch. A stylish shawl or wrap can add warmth and sophistication.
- Footwear: Comfortable yet chic shoes are essential, especially if you’ll be standing or dancing. Consider block heels or stylish flats.
Ultimately, the outfit should reflect your personal style while complementing the wedding's overall aesthetic.
